McAfee's Knob and Tinker Cliffs Backpacking Trip

   Starting Saturday morning and coming back Sunday afternoon, we will be starting at the McAfee's knob parking lot and hiking 4 miles to McAfee's then another 7 to Lambert's Meadow campsites. On Sunday, we will get up and hike to the Andy Layne trailhead (another 5 miles).

The number of people able to go on this trip will depend on the number of drivers we have. If you are a driver, you are guaranteed a spot on this trip. If we do not have any drivers, the trip will be canceled.

Keep in mind, while this is open to beginner backpackers, you must be able to hike 16-17 miles with a pack on. You must also be able to provide all of your own equipment needed for the trip. Experienced folks are also welcome!

There will be a pack shakedown before we leave. Please be prepared, or you will not be allowed to go!

What You Should Bring

   Required: at least 3 liters of water, backpack, sleeping bag, headlamp/flashlight, food for yourself, good shoes for hiking, sun protection

Recommended: Sleeping pad, rain gear, eating utensil, a dish if you plan to eat a cooked meal for dinner, trekking poles

Things that we can coordinate to share: tents, stoves, fuel, water filters, fire-starters
