Introduction

The Outdoor Club of Virginia Tech (OCVT) is a diverse group of day- hikers, backpackers, climbers, paddlers, international explorers, and mountain bikers.

The goal of the club is to expose fellow Hokies and members of the community to the outdoors and to develop knowledge of the local area, teach safe and responsible outdoor practices. The club always look out for new people outdoorminded responsible people.

An important goal of the club is to main about 26 miles of the Appalachian Trail in south west Virignia. OCVT is only one of two university clubs in the country that is responsible for maintaining a portion of the AT. learn more . .

The club also organises various day hikes, camping trips, rafting trips, backpacking trips.... for members of the club along with numerous social activities for regular members. Joining awesome OCVT is the best way to explore the surrounding area if you are new to the area. Other clubs just don't compare!
